A NASTY STATEMENT.
DENIED BY ALLEGED AUTHOR. BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION. HAMILTON, May 25. Before the Second Military Board yesterday, *F. L. Corrigan, a farmer of Ohaupo, who had been granted exemption till May 30th, was confionted with a report received by the Board to the effect that he had openly stated that he had obtained exemption by squaring Mr Hoekley, one of the members of the Board. Appellant was closely examined "by the chairman, Mr F. Earl. K.C., in the matter, but swore the report was untrue and that he had never approached any member of the Board, as alleged.
