NORTH CANTERBURY CONFERENCE RESOLUTIONS. BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, May 25. , The North Canterbury Farmers' Union Conference carried a resolution asking the Government to confer with Mr Massey on the subject of frozen meat in relation to its disposal in London? and as to the period after the war during which the contract would continue. The Conference resolved to urge adoption of the metric system of weights and measures and decimal coinage and suggestsed that /the matter should be brought before the Government with a view to having such measures introduced at the end of the war. The Conference also decided that it was advisable Jthat ballots and medical examination of men of the Second Division should be taKen at the earliest possible date so that those interested may have knowledge of what to do regarding their business.
