. SALONIKA, Oct. 7. The British had hardly settled down at Yenikuei when across the plain from Toplova 3QOO Bulgarians advanced in .a counter-attack. -When within reach of our guns and shrapnel the Bulgarians fell in scores, and the remainder fled back. Later they tried again, but a shell fell among a group of forty and wiped out .the lot. Finally the enemy retired to'Toplova. The Bulgarians also lost 3000 during the fighting at Balazia. • , ■ "

The enemy in the Fosgaras and Vpademr region*.; attacked with superior forces,'and we withdrew somewhat. BUCHAREST, Oct. 7. A communique states: During three days' stubborn fighting in the Paraue region we captured enemy positions. Violent fighting continues on the Dobrudja. . . -A communique states: We have resumed the offensive in the Caveni and Juil defiles. Our troops on the right flank of the Ddbrudja occupied several 1 trenches. An attack on the Roumanians' centre was repulsed. Salonika reports state that the Serbians havj occupied the station atKerhali. \ PETROGRAD, Oct. 7. A German aviator, when, dropping I bombs on Bucharest, killed an American subject. The Minister has communicated with the American Government. ' AMSTERDAM, Oct. 7. A Bulgarian communique'states: Our counter-attack crushed the Serbian attempt to cross the Cerna hear Ckotohivir. The .enemy fleet bombarded Dedeagatch, but with unimportant damage. Our aeroplanes caused the fleet to retire.
