Tn the Senate 31 r Poarce, replying to questions regarding alleged misappropriations of goods at Rabaul. said the private who" made the charge since signed an admission that the charges were untrue, and the editor of the newspaper which published the charges had stated that he had no evidence m support or rebuttal of them. Mr Pearce added that the author of the charges was of a weak character, and had not aopoared to realise the serim-sness of hi-> statements, lne sole punishment lie had received was a reprimand.
