FURTHER LOOTING CHARGE DISMISSED

. feXDNEtf, May ,21/ , / "A Court-martial sat on ihe^ftase o£ Captain Lionel Babbington' Itarenscroft, on three charges of three counts each of stealing or receiving a camera; a chronometer and typewriter, the property of persons unknown. Ravenscroffc was appointed provost marshal ajb ftai-v haul, the position entailing control of a- large amount of German property^ and the articles were discovered in his possession upon returning to Sydney. The Court, dismissed -the charges regarding the typewriter and chroho,meter. Ravenscourt, in his defence, stated that the strictest enquiry made for. the owner of the camera had failed to find him. He was under the belief that "he or any other ojßficer or man could, take ajiy propea'tythey found in a private house if the owner could not be found. 'The' Court returned a verdict of not guilty on all charges.
