ENLISTING PROCEEDING.

Enlisting of Tenitorials for the expeditionary force is proceeding steadily at the local defence offices, and-a commencement will be made to-day with taking the names of civilians who desire to volunteer for service. The .second squad is expected to leave Hawera on Thursday morning. A public meeting has been convened by his Worship the Mayor of Hawera for this evening, at 7.30 o'clock, in tho Winter Show Building, for the purpose of discussing matters in connection y.ith the War Fund, etc. This meeting will precede the concert to be given by the Wellington Boys' Brass Band. ' Contributions to the expeditionary force will be received at the Borough Council Chambers, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5 p.m., parcels to be addressed to Mrs Whittington.
