SECOND JUNIORS.
KAPONGA in (11) v. HAWERA HI (0). At Hawera, Kaponga beat Hawera by 11 to nil. Tries were scored by C. Espiner, Carlson, and another. Carlson converted one try. All the points were scored in the first spell, Kaponga having easily the best of it, but they did not make most of their chances. The second spell was evenly contested. Hawera started very short, 'but filled in a team by half-time. Mr A. Foy refereed. WAIMATE (11) v. OKAIAWA (3). These teams met at Okaiawa. The local team was much the heavier, but was sadly outclassed so far as a knowledge of the game was concerned. The Waimate team was composed of what a third-grade team should be—a lot of young lads. The game at times savored more, of burlesque than football.
