THE GOVERNOR'S VISIT.
ARRANGEMENTS FOR RECEPTION.
Cr. Morris reported to the Hawera. Borough Council on Wednesday evening that the special committee had coin--ple^d arrangements in connection withi tht .-isit of the Governor to Hawera ou\ JLuesclay afternoon next. Invitationshad been issued to the chairmen of- all the neighboring local bodies to be present at the reception at the station,, where an address of welcome would -bepresented to his Excellency. Afterwardsafternoon tea. would be served in Mrs- ■ Barton's grounds, Mrs Barton having generously offered to do this. The tea. over, the official party would be driven, to Yon Tempsky's monument at Te-xSgutu-o-te-mami.
Shopkeepers are to be requested toclose their shops between 4 and S> o'clock.
