PALMERSTON SHOW.
An event of primary importance to Agricultural and pastoral interests in the Dominion is the big show which takes place in' Palmerston North on November sth, 6th, and 7th next, and a correspondent writes that preparations for 6ame are now in progress. The large amount of prize money and trephies approximating £2300, is largely responsible for the keen interest being displayed. That the Manawatu and West Coast A. and P. Committee back up their honors with something more than mere prize tickets and certificates is indicated by the above figures. The space bookings are unusually heavy this year particularly in the machinery and implement division. The Kennel Club committee has had many enquiries for the dog schedules from all over the Dominion and as a consequence are anticipating full benches. The separation of the draught horses into three divisions, viz., heavy, draughts, Clydesdales and working draughts, is an innovation hitherto untried and the ex- I periment is looked forward to with interest amongst draught horse breeders. ,
