RAILWAYMEN PROPOSE STRIKING.
APPEAL TO PROTECT WORKERS
At a meeting of -railwaymen at West Ham a resolution was carried to strike on Wednesday at midnight unless the employers meet the transporters.
Mr Williams, secretary of the Amalgamated Railwaymen, interviewed later, said that if the men struck without the Society's consent, it was at their own risk.
The employers have appealed to Mr MeKenna for an adequate force of police or troops to protect the workers from terrorism.
