THE CENSURE DEBATE
BY CABLE-PRESS A SSOCi ATION—COPYBIGHI MELBOURNE, June 25.
In the House of Representatives the debate on Mr Deakin's censure motion was continued by the Prime Minister, Mr A. Fisher. In reply to Mr Deakin's criticisms, he defended the Commonwealth Bank and the land tax. The bank's circulation, he said, was more than double that of all private banks. It produced a net interest of £180,000. The land tax had broken up 1000 large estates into 29,000 small "farms. He further eulogised tbe conduct of the Brisbane strikers.
(Received June 26, 10 a.m.) MELBOURNE, June 26. The censure debate has been adjourned. Mr Fisher, in his speech, claimed that through the Opposition making it difficult for the unions to get to the Arbitration Court, they were responsible for most of the industrial unrest. Mr J. Cook attacked the Government over a number of appointments it had made.
