ENTERTAINMENTS.

OPERA HOUSE

WORLD'S PICTURES

The programme at the Opera House ou Thursday evening consisted of the usual number of assorted pictures, a particularly interesting film being that illustrative of the seal fishing industry conducted from Newfoundland. The sealing vessels are first shown leaving St. John's on their quest, and later the sealing parties may be seen securing the young seals amidst the wastes of ice, and laboriously. transporting the pelts thus obtained to the waiting ships. This is one of the best industrial films exhibited here for some time, and vividiy brings home to the beholder the rigorous conditions under which some men are called upon to learn a livelihood. Ihe comic pictures in the programme are as amusing as usual, while the dramatic items are a fair average lot. From one of the latter a useful hint may be gan>ed, as it tells how an only boy wh© had been pampered into ill-health by fond but injudicious parents was restored to strength and made more manly through coming into contact with and finally joining a corps of. boy scouts. Suitable musical accompaniments tothapictures were provided by the Lvrir Orchestra. TO-MORROW NIGHT.. To-morrow evening the management, v-ut present the great military drama. "A Sudden Impulse," by the"^ Nordisk Company; also "The Prosecuting Counsel, by the Selig Company, introducing Miss Kathlyn Williams in the leading, part.
