TOTALISATOR PERMITS.

W< ELLINGTON, June 19. The Anti-Gambling League has made representations to the Minister of Internal affairs (Mr G. W. Russell) protesting against any increase in the number of race days in the dominion and state that gambling is assuming such huge pronortions that it threatens the commercial stability as well as the moral integrity of the people. Any proposal to increase the number of race days, they say "will be met by an agitn+E n and h v a storm of protest that will be felt throughout this land."
