Jennings not contesting Taumarunui at the next general election, Mr A. fecholes (chairman of the Waitemata County Council) will be a candidate in the Government interest. The Hon J. A. Millar (states an Auckland Press Association telegram)" has been suffering from ptomaine poisoning for the last few days, and has been forced to delay his departure to Gisborne. In all probability; Mr Millar will leave Auckland on Friday. Dr. Bernard Myers, a brother of the ' Hon. Arthur Myers has just received , from Mr T AY. Wallmgton, private secretary to the Queen, a letter conveying Her Majesty's thanks for a copy "rn Mr T^ ers recently-published book, ni■ w «* tei? of a Pr°fessional Man." Mr AValhngton says: "I am to inform you that the Queen is much pleased in possessing such an interesting book." \ Mr Charles Wilson (Parliamentary Librarian) was last night re-elected chairman of the Victoria College Council. Sir Robert Stout was re-eletced the Council's representative on Jio University Senate.
