At a meeting of the above held last evening, there were present: Messrs F. Pirani (chairman), A. Fraser, E. Dixon, F.. Purnell, F. M. Spurdle, P. ODea; G. H. Bennett and J. P. Aldridge.
Leave of absence was granted Mr D H. Guthrie, M.P.
Finance.—Bankbalances were reported to be as follows: General account cr. £2163; building account cr. £2290 7s 8d; Wanganui school sites dr. £771 18s 6d; manual and. technical dr. £3451 2s; bank balance £21 11s lid dr. i/ 4207. - . / ■ «
Mr O'Dea's report on Ngamatapouri was then adopted. .Leave of Absence.—Leave of absence was granted as follows: D. H. McKay (Kai Iwi, one month's extension), H. E. Gibson (Silverhope, two weeks), E. Barkley (Aramoho^ two weeks' Extension), G. Perso (Riverton, two weeks after Christmas vacation). ~A^ew motor bicycle is to be supplied Mr Croft. • ; V -.
. The Education Department notified grants as follows: Patea £765, Marton £1150, Okoia £245 and Umumuri £382. The Board was advised that, Mr G. Carson had been elected a member of the committee of advice, Training College. .•■ . .... , • ,;;• .. ' ,: ; .., ,
The Hawera Borough Council wrote re charges for water and drainage.—lt was agreed that Mr Strack should pay for the water and the Board the drainage. ." ■ ' ■'■■■",■•'.'■ '- ■'•' :/-; ;■ ■ Hawera Committee is to be supplied with new desks.
Half cost of fencing and repairs at Manaia was granted. '
