WANGANUI, Nov. 23. At the Wanganui Education Board last night the question of the use of schools as polling-booths on election day was discussed.

A motion was moved; by Mr Dixon that the schools should be closed on election .lay, the mover claiming that neither the children nor the teachers could work amid the excitement of election day. Mr Pirani (chairman) moved as an amendment: "That the action of the chairman in protesting against the use of schools on election day, when other buildings are available, be endorsed; also that the schools remain open." The amendment was carried by five to three.
