Tho annual meeting of the Hawera Mounted Rifles wos held in camp on Monday evening. Tho annual balance-sheet showed a credit balance of about £80. Corporal Young was elected a lieutenant to be attached to Manaia troop. The following committees were elected : — Finance : The officers and FarrierSergt. Nicholas and Sergt. Slattery ; Shooting : Hawera — Captain Morrison, Quartormaster-Sergt. Shrimpton, Sergt.Mdjor Nicholas, Serpts. Shrimpton and Penticost, CorporaJ Trott, Troopers Bennett, Ranch, Irvine, and Suisted; Manaia—Lieuts. Sutherland and Young, Sergt. Hughes, Corporal Knudsen, Troopers BiTchall, Franklin, and Butler . Quartermaster-Sergit. Shrimpton was re-elected secretary, and was voted an honorarium of £10. Trooper BirchaH was elected rough' rider. Votes of thanks were accorded to the A. and P. Association and Mr W. Robertson (for use of grounds}, Mar Wells, Manaia (for transport), Hawera Borough ! Band, <vnd the ladies who Had assisted at afternoon tea a£ the Ciimp on Sunday afternoon.
