DUNEDTN, March 20. The Trades and Labor Council to-night considered the question of nominating a representative on. the Arbitration Court, and decided to recommend Mr P. Breen, Secretary of the Council, as the representative of the workers, and Mr W. S. Young, of WeJlington, as deputy-repre-sentative.

OAMARU, March 20.

At the meeting of the Grand Lodge of the 1.0.0. F. to-night, the centralisation of the sick funds of the Order was earned by 15 votes to 2. This matter has been before the Grand Lodge since 1887.

INVERCARGDLL, March 20.

Arthur Wilson, a jockey, sustained a bad compound fracture oi the right leg through being unseated from his mount at the races to-day. The horse he was riding, Trump, continued with the field, and fought out a neck and neck finish. CHRISTCHURCH, March, 20.

At a meeting of the executive committee of the North Canterbury Farmers' Union to-day, it was resolved to commence the Land Bill campaign in May.
