TRADES AND LABOR COUNCIL.

AUCKLAND, March 21

The Trades and Labor Council, after discussion of the question whether arbitration was beneficial or otherwise to the workers of New Zealand, decided to instruct its delegates at the Trades and Labor Conference that the Auckland Council is of topinion that the Act as it stands has been of benefit to the colony. The Council approved of a remit to the Confeirence urging the overnment to increase th© import duty on all printed matter by at least 25 per cent.
