The site is on Simpson's harbor, nt Matupi, in German New Britain. An immenie wharf, v thousand feet long, together with a spacious warehouse, lias een built at a cost of £40,000. Tlie site, which is out of the usual trade route, is said to be an ideal one for a naval base, and almost impregnable.
