A FIERCE BOMBARDMENT.
(Received September 26, 11.29 p.m.) LONDON, September 26. The Japanese, for 36 hours, fiercely bombarded Port Arthur, shells falling from quarters previously silent, proving that many heavy guns are now in position.
At noon on the 29th the Japanese right and centre advanced on both sides of the railway, using pucker trenches and the sparse natural cover.
