To-day tbe English team is timed to arrive at Auckland, and en the 19th they s'art their first match of ihe tcur, against Auckland. The visit should be productive of much good to co'onial ctickt-t, for the members of the team, though not quite good enough for the All England Eleven, are well-known county playeis, and, in the opinion of Hugh Trurnble, would make a very good show ngainst the Aus'raliins.

The Town Hall, Sydney, was packed on the occasion of a public recept'on to Victor Trutuper. The Lord Mayor presided. The speakers, including the Premier (Sir John See) and Me George Rfid, eulogised the joung cricketei's splendid record in England and Australia. On behalf of the teachers and students of the Crown ttrtet Sch 01, the guest wa3 presented w.th a valuable fiet of cutlery and two silver fruit dishes.
