Herald supplies the following :— Somnuß, a one time well-known raoer, lately owned by Mr Merriter, Waipawa, was found dead in bis paddock a fow nighty ago. The jockey, who is alleged to havo shot the Chairman of tho Bookhatnpton Jockey Club Committoo on 4th September, 1900, aftor being suspended for lix months for not trying to win a raoe( has been arrested on susplolon at Unandangle, on the Western Quoonsland border. He had not been heard of sinoe the tragedy. :
