Gisboene, January 20. • This evening, at Tekeraia, a young man named John Fletcher attempted to shoot Miss Howe Chow, eldest daughter of Mr George Howe Chow, owner of the Tekeraka Hotel. Fletoher was on horseback at the time, and was seized and disarmed. He was released and rode away, and later on he was found a mile away in a critical condition, haying evidently tried to poison himself with carbolio acid.
