Wellington, January 25.
The Minister of Railways has direoted that on the day of the Queen's funeral no railway business of any kind is to be transacted between 11.80 a.m. and 12 noon. No train is to be started within that time, and every running train is to be brought to a standstill for half an hour.
Wairoa, January 26. All the signs of mourning are visible everywhere. The churcheß are arranging memorial services on Sunday, and probably for a kindred function on the day of the funeral. The Maoris are holding tangis, and have applied to the Defence Minister for a supply of ammunition for funeral volleys on the day appointed for interment.
