BOWLING.
Manaia bowling green is to be opened on Friday.
At a meeting of the committee of the Hawera Bowling Club, conditions were submitted and ap> proved in connection with the contests for the Syme Feathers (rinks; and the Davidson Feathers (pairs). On the nomination of the president, Messrs G. Byrne, Haughey, Parrington. aud W. A. Parkinson were chosen to defend the former, and Messrs Davidson and Miller the latter. Holders are to be subject to challenge once a week. . Mr R. Tait Has challenged the champion rink, and will organise a rink to meet them.
