QUARTERLY MEETING.

The quarterly meeting in connexion with the above church was held on Thursday evening, in the vestry of the church. There was a good attendance. Rev. J. Dukes occupied the chair.

The circuit stewards (Mr E. Dixon and Mr L. S. Barrneleugh) presented the balance sheet, which was considered highly satisfactory. Although there have been many wet Sundays, there was a credit balance on the quarter of about J65. The cb airman reported that the cir-> cuit had contributed £78 14s 9d to the Indian Famine Fund. The membership shows an increase.

Special collections were authorised a\ all places in the circuit on behalf o: Home Mission Fund ; also special col lections at Manaia for their trust.

The chairman reported the completion of purchase of Grey street property, Normanby, and enlargement of trust by addition of six names.

An application is to be made to Loan Fund for loan of £100 for ten years, to assist in building a new church at Noi'manby.

During the past quarter the Hawera trust paid last instalment due to Loon Fund on church, making it now free of debt.

The Loan Fund approve of the erection of vestry at Patea church. The meeting approved of approaching Loan Fund for help in building Sunday School at Hawera.

After a long discussion, it was resolved, That we ask for a second minister (probationer) to be appointed to Hawera circuit, to reside at Patea end of circuit : also, That Home Mis-, sion Committee be asked for £80 grant.

Mr Worsfold and Mr Cody were elected substitute representatives to the District Synod. - The Rev. J. DuMs was unanimously invited for another year, whioh invitation he accepted.
