WELLINGTON, November 4.
The dispute between tbe City Council and the Harbor Board re width of streets •n the reclaimed land has been settled by the former making the streets the full width.
In regard to the relations between the Council and the Tramway Company, tbe latter named £28,000 as the capital valne of the concern and on which their profits would in future be reckoned, but declined to make any offer to the council for a renewal of possession for five, seven, or ten years.
At tbe R.M. Court, O'Brien, on a charge of attempting to desert his wife, was again placed in the dock, when he apologised to Mr. Wardell, R.M., tor remarks made in the morbiug, which, he explained,, were uttered in the heat of the moment, and there was not the slightest foundation for the insinuations thrown out. Eventually tbe case was settled by O'Brien paying £200 an cosfs, in satisfaction of all claim! against him.
