WELLINGTON. August 12. Requisitions are in circulation inviting Sir G. Grey ami Sir J. Vogel to deliver addresses. Mr. Ballance will probably speak here, too. The Corporation and other bodies interested intend to urge tbe Government to reinstate the clock when the post office ip rebuilt. Part of the funds weie oiigmsilly supplied to Government by public bodies, and as the clock was not insuied, it is considered the Government ai c responsible for its loss. DUNEDIN, August 10. It is repoited that the Crown Solicitor has advised the Government that they cannot inteifere with the Port Chalmers Dock Trust loan.
