(PRESS ASSOCIATION.) WELLINGTON, July 2. A rather peculiar case came before the court this morning. Allan Campbell, bugler of the Wellington Rifled, was arrested on a warrant on board the barque Glenrose, waiting to Bail for Valparaiso with the first fair wind. He was charged with being about to change bis residence before delivering up hiR rifle accoutrements and uniform to the officer commanding the corps. The case was remanded to Monday, and bail was allowed. AUCKLAND, July 2. In the Supreme Court, Haera Miniha, for unlawfully wounding, was sentenced to 12 months. The same prisoner had a charge of perjrry pending ngainct him. A decree ni»i was granted in the Divorce Court in the case of Howard v. Howard and Kyle. DUNEDIN, July 2. The Premier denies the statement that Parliament will not meet before the middle of October. He expects that the new House will meet in September. The Star states that but for the Government's distinct pledge that no appointments to the Legislative Council shall be made during the recess, the Government would have recommended the Governor to call Mr. Montgomery to the Council. Captain Edwin telegraphed at 1.31 p.m. to-day : — Every indication of a hard frost to-night.
