In the House of Commons to-day. Sir J. Ferguson,- Under-Secretary for Foreign Affairs, stated that the representations of England on the subject of the New Hebrides had not so far expediated negotiations, bnt he still hoped the discussion wonld shortly be concluded, and the withdrawal of the French from the Hebrides be arranged. ' In the House of Commons last night, Mr. Smith's motion that the discussion on the Irish Crimes Bill should be closed finally on Monday next was adopted by large majority. The Radical and Irish members left the House in a body. Their amendments not being moved, the report of the committee of the whole was adopted. It is announced that the Porte has applied for further delay in the ratification of the Egyptian Convention. ROME, July 1. Speaking in Parliament to-day, Signoi Crispi, Minister for the Interior, stated that a complete understanding exists between England and Italy upon all questions affecting the latter, -and added that the interests of Italy- and England in Egypt were in common. SYDNEY, July 2. A case of small pox has occurred here. The sufferer is a man named Alexander. He was one of the crew of the Grlaslyn, wrecked in the China Seas. He lately arrived from Hongkong in the Port Victor, which carried several passengers and brought a clean bill of health. He spent one night at the Sailors' Home, the inmates of which are now all qunrantined. Alexander has been placed aboard the quarantine hulk Far Away. It is known that Bix of the Port Victor's passengers went to New Zealand by the Wakatipu on her last voyage from this port.
