He should have un/loubtedlj' done so had sub-section 2 of section 171 ot the Act applied to the case ; but the English authorities cited by debtor's counsel showed that the section did not apply. GISBORNE, July 2. The libel action Baldwin v. Proprietors of the Herald, claim for £500, resulted in a verdict for defendants, with costs on the highest scale. GREYMOUTH, June 30.
