Girl's Suicide
BODY ON MOTHER'S GRAVE
Behind the tragedy of Fay Isabel Fischer (18), whose body was found lying across her mother's grave in Toowong Cemetery, lies the story of a lovers' Quarrel, says a Brisbane paper.
Unknown to her relatives and Mends, and behind a happy and cheery disposition, she brooded, over her troubles, until, in a moment of desperation, she sought solace and peace in death, close to her mother, who died five years ago.
Fay Fischer's body was found by John Paton,- a monumental mason. In her handbag by her side was a packet containing the remains of what looked and smelled like arsenic, and a farewell r.ote in her own handwriting. The note is believed to describe her feelings after a quarrel with her boy-friend.
