HUTT VALLEY CARNIVAL
SUCCESSFUL SEASON ENDS The Hutt Valley Holiday Carnival concluded a successful season on Saturday with an attractive programme. In the afternoon the interest of the large crowd was divided between the sporting fixtures and the games and side shows. In the evening the weather was very favourable for outdoor activities and the mild conditions added considerably to the success of the dancing on the green and the La Conga and Jitterbug contests to music by the Lower Hutt Municipal Land and records played over the public address system. On Wednesday "Mr. Hutt Valley Junior" was chosen, Victor Hoverd (15i years) being first, Frank Little (16 years) second, and Ronald Olsen (If, years) third. Mr. Alf. Jenkins was judge. The Boy Scout Jamboree Fund and the Maori Memorial Fund should benefit considerably through the loyal support and co-operation or their very numerous helpers and the public in general.
