Merrick was appointed tc< ompanist. An enjoyable "sing" was conducted by Mr. Brusey. The first rehearsal will be held in the small St. James' Hall on April 29, ; U 7.45 p.m. Instrumental Group The instrumental group of the Society met last Thursday night, about 25 being present. Mrs. \V. McLoughlln was convenor. Much enthusiasm was displayed, and several new members were ad milted.

.Mrs. W. McLoughlln. Misses Merleim Coffey and June Pat ton. Messrs. Ronald Muston. P. J- Palmer, and Arthur Davies contributed to an enjoyable programme. Mesdames Bernard Webb and W. MeLoughlin acted as accompanists.

A sub-committee consisting of .Miss June Patton. Messrs. Frank Mitchell and J. L. Pascoe was set up to assist in the group's activities. The next meeting of the group wilt he held on May 8.

Piann Group The piano group will meet at the home of Mr. Lionel Harris in Puriri Street on Friday. April 25. An interesting programme has been arranged, including piano items and a talk by Mrs. Janet Hector on her experiences in London during the war years.
