CHURCH EXTENSION
NEW HOUSING AREAS
A report on a recent Dominion conference of Presbyterian leaders held at Lower Hutt to plan for extending church activities in npw housing areas was presented to the Auckland Presbytery last week by - Mr; A. E. Odlin.
Mr. Odlin said the Church proposed to raise a fund of £25,000 for this purpose, but it was obvious thai this would not be nearly enough, and £IOO,OOO was visualised. That, however, would require a five-year plan. One of the proposals was that the organisation and assets of what were known as "down town churches" should be redistributed in the new areas.
It was agreed that the Presbytery's church extension committee should organise an effort to raise funds for work in new housing areas.
