BOY SCOUTS
SUCCESSFUL EASTER CAMPS
TRAINING FOR JAMBOREE
Successful Tamps were held by tjie Boy Scouts of the' Hutt Valley and Bays area during the Easter holitoy>. Under ideal weather conditions a Jamboree" training camp was held in Moore's Valley, Wa'inui-o-Mata. Camp tests were held by -Mr. M. Nelson, Training Commissioner, and hakas and Maori songs were rehearsed for arena and campfire displays during the tour abroad. ' Patrols from the Ist Lower Hutt. 2nd Lower Hutt, East Harbour. Naenae, and Enuni troops and the Tainui Sea Scouts were encamped at Crowther's Bush. About 100 were present, and had a very enjoyable time. The Waterloo Group also had a successful camp at Barton's Bush. Trentham. Six senior Scouts accompanied the County Commissioner, Mr. J. E. V. Vogel, to the Marlborough Sounds. The Walnut Group Committee held a successful dance for the fund to send Wainui representatives to the Scout Jamboree.
Ail the Scouts of the Hutt Valley and Bays area and their officers and friends are now making a concentrated effort to raise the balance, of the funds needed to send the Hutt Valley representatives of the Jamboree. The boys are due to sail early in May.
