NO NEED FOR ALARM A statement marie by Superintendent H. G. Hume, should allay any uneasiness regarding the Lower I-lut-t fire-fighting system caused by the fact that part of a hydrant was found to be broken on the occasion of the fire at St. James' Church. "Had the hydrant been sound the church could not have been saved, for the fire had evidently been burning for hours," said Superintendent Hume.
