NURSES’ TRAINING SCHOOL The Nurses’ and Midwives Board recently agreed to recognise the Hutt maternity wards as a training school for maternity nurses, subject to the following provisions: That an ajite-natal clinic is set up at the Hutt Hospital for patients attending maternity wards; that the services of a medical practitioner specialisg in obstetrics is obtained to undertake lectures and clinical instruction; that the proportion of nurses |o patients is one nurse to one patient, and that there is one member of the trained staff to two trainees. The Wellington Hospital Board has agreed to the setting up of an ante-natal clinic at the Hutt Hospital for patients attending the maternity wards, and applications have * been called for the position of obstetrician.
