A competition concerning "books" and their "authors" was won by Mrs Orr. I A competition which tested the in-' genuity of competitors brought forth a splendid collection of useful articles which were required to be made from materials costing not more than one shilling. The popular vote was cast in favour of a "Victory String and Duster Bag' made in the form of a doll from bits and pieces of red, white and blue material cleverly arranged by Mrs. Browning.
