HELPING MOTHERS
Sir, —It has been brough to the notice of the Hutt Valley Women's Citizen Guild that considerable hardship is being caused to elderly people and mothers with young chili.. <. through having to go out in all weathers to get necessary foodstuii's. One case particularly where a mother Avith two young children either had to take them with her or strap them into their cots whilst away shipping. It was suggested by our committee that perhaps a light delivery service could be organised, particularly in the outlying districts. While realising the difficulties of this suggestion during these days of shori age of petrol and lack of manpower, we still think some way should oe found to help these mothers, many of whom have husbands away fighting. Any suggestions, from your your readers would be most helpful. —I am etc., EDITH DENNEY. Secretary Hutt Valley Women's Citizen Guild.
