LOWER HUTT METHODIST MENS' FELLOWSHIP

The largest attendance for at least five years was present last week at the tenth annual meeting of this Fellowship, when a welcome was extended to a number of men who have found it possible to renew their association with the group.

Eighteen meetings were held last year and without exception the speakers \yere of a high order. Interest was sustained throughout the year despite many detracting factors and no boubt the capable addresses and the lively discussions which were provoked were largely responsible.

Officers elected at the meeting for the ensuing year were as follows:

Padre, Rev. F. J. Parker; president, Mr. J. V. Burton; vice-presi-dents, Messrs. T. C. Cartwright and A. J. Johnstone; secretary, Mr. A. E. Jupp, treasurer, Mr. E. D. Jensen, song leader, Mr. S. R. Evison; pianist, Mr. A. E. Thomas.

Tribute was paid to the work of Mr. C. A. Russell, who was obliged to sever his connection with the Fellowship on the occasion of his moving into Wellington. Mr. Russell was largely instrumental in founding the Fellowship over 10 years ago and had been most active throughout that period.

It was decided to meet fortnightly at 7.30 p.m. on the second and fourth Mondays of each month, excepting Easter Monday, the earlier meetings of the year to be held in the Church Parlour. In view of the prominent speakers it has been possible to obtain, it was decided to make the Fellowship widely known and to extend a very warm welcome*, to any men, beyond the membership of the Church, who are interested iii hearing these speakers on presentday problems, and who are seeking warm Christian Fellowship.
