FEDERATION OF TOWNSWOMENS' GUILD
The monthly meeting of the above Guild was held in the U.S.A. Hall on 16th March when Mrs. N. S. Benstead presided and welcomed all present. Being the annual meeting reports for the year were given and the new committee formed. The retiring chairwoman, Mrs. Benstead, was presented with a dainty box of fruit and llowers and a floral bouquet by Mrs. D. Moran, who paid tribute to the excellent service she had rendered to the Guild, having held an executive office since its inauguration. The secretary, treasurer and convenors of the Circles also received floral sprays Mrs. Albert, Wellington, spoke on the proposed Area Federation and also complimented the Guild on the efficient manner in which it was conducted and the satisfactory reports. The points prize for the year for the best flower in the garden was won by Mrs. Judd. Following afternoon tea, a sketch "Between the Soup and the Savories" was presented by members of the Drama Circle, Mesdanies Craig, Burrell and Jones and assisted by Mrs. Milne. This was a request
number and was again greatly ap predated.
The war services stall was well stocked with an attractive display of goods, the sale of which helped to augment the funds.
A pleasant afternoon was brought to a close with the singing of the New Zealand Antliem.
