STREET LIGHTING

At the February meeting of the Hutt Valley Electric Power Board, Mr. J. W. Andrews urged the necessity ( for some measure of restoration of tfte shop window and verandah lighting in High Street in the intereMs of public safety and asked for the! ,co-operation of the Power Board with the Lower Hutt City Council in the matter. At last Thursday's meeting Mr. Andrews ,sald he wished to thank the General ■Manager and his staff for the expeditious way in which the lighting had been restored. The effect had been most pleasing and so far as he was aware, not' one complaint had been received of the trouble which previously existed. Mr, Holland:® said that the deshrouding of the street lights was now being proceeded with.
