NAE NAE BOYS' HOME

The beautiful grounds of the Cath olic Boys' Home at Nae Nae were thronged with visitors on Saturday; afternoon when the annual garden party was held and a considerable sum .was raised to defray the expenses of earthquake damage.

The Rt. Rev. Monsignor Connolly, who was introduced by the RevFather Tymons, before declaring the fete open, spoke of the wonderful work of the sisters in caring for the physical, mental and spiritual needs of their charges. Letters from expupils now overseas testified to the happiness of their recollections and also their indebtedness for all the school had meant* to them.

The Prime Minister (Mr Fraser)', with Mrs. Fraser, visited the fete. Others included in the official party; were the Minister of Labour (Mr. Webb), Mr. H. Combs, member for Wellington Suburbs, Mr. J. W. Andrews, Mayor of Lower Hutt, and Mrs. Andrewlsi, Mr. W. V. Dyer, chairman of the' Education Board, and Mrs. Dyer, and the Rev. Fathers D. McGlynn, L. Davey, T. Keegan, T. Kavanagh, and J. Summerß.

The Lower Hutt Municipal Band: played selections throughout the afternoon, and Our Lady's Troop of Boy Scouts composed of boys from the home assisted the organisers. The sistertei wish to thank the many; helpers and friends who attended and gave practical support.
