HUTT VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL
Again the Hutt Valley Higlt School Parents' Association established a record for receips and social success at their recent Annual Gar» den Party. The fete was opened by the Prime Minister, Hon. P. Fraser, who complimented the School on the record roll and- the pupils on the excellence of their drill display, especially the School band, T. Gray, which excelled itself, not only in a musical capacity, but by their clever marching evolutions on the linea of those recently displayed to them by the R.N.Z.A.F. band, under Mr. Gladstone Hill.
The proceeds of the fete are ta be shared by the Parents' Association for the parcels fund for former pupils now serving overseas,
Mr. D. A. Ewen, chairman of the Board of Governors, expressed deep appreciation of the work of the Parents' Association for the improvement of the Ischool and grounds. Mrs. J. W. Andrews, president of the Parents' Association, also addressed the gathering-. Official guests entertained by Mr. J. N. Millard, the headmaster, and Mrs. Millard, included Mr. Fraser, Mr. Mrs. J. W. Andrews, Mr. W. V. Dyer, chairman of the Wellington Education. Board, and Mrs. Dyer, Mr. D. A. Ewen, Mrla. Ogilvie, lady convenor, Mr. A. Spencer, organiser, Mr. and' Mrs. Fisher, Mr. J. Mitchell, Deputy; Mayor, and Mrs. Mitchell, and Mr„ Combs, M.P. for Wellington Sub* urbs.
