HUTT CREEKS
RIVER BOARD'S ATTITUDE The Hutt River Board, after a discussion oil a report from the engineer, Mr. H. Sladdcn, decided to inform the Lower Hutt Borough 'Council that., following on close settlement and the drainage of storm water into small creeks under the jurisdiction of the board, the board should disclaim liability for clearing the creeks. The particular creek under review was a sluggish watercourse running through a swampy area in the block of land the Government is seeking to acquire from the Maoris. It is cast of Waiwetu Road and north of White's Line.
