ALICETOWN WOMEN'S CLUB

A well attended meeting of the Alicetown Women's Club was held recently and was presided over by Mrs. Ashforth. Four new members were nominated. Solos by Mrs. Cook, accompanied by Mrs. O'Neill, were much enjoyed, as also were two musical monologues given by Mrs. Miller. Members of the drama circle read a very amusing play, ' 1 The Doctor's Patients" which was well received. The making of bags from discarded felt hats was a novel and interesting demonstration given by Mrs. Waite. Opportunity was taken to bid farewell to Mrs. Cox who is leaving to reside in Australia. Mrs. Ashforth, 011 behalf of the members, extended to Mrs. Cox all good wishes and presented her with an appropriate gift suitably inscribed. Mrs. Jowett was the winner of the competition.
