JNR. LABOUR LEAGUE ACTIVITIES

I*' (By "Hail-o.") 1 ' The general meeting of the Junior Labour League was held in tho Labour Hall, Bcacli Street ;on May Ist Mr Wakely being in the chair. A brief survey of the League's activities daring the last month ,was given, and the balance sheet was submitted to tho meeting. The ballot for new committee members to fill the vacancies caused by the resignation of three of jour incmbcis (through business reasons) resulted in Mrs Firmin and Messrs Chalk and Bird being duly elected on the social committee, {Mr W. Firmin to be the new vice-president, and Mr R .Brown to act in conjunction with Mr Firmin. as M.C. at social functions held by the League., , . " General. Remarks. Patrons arc asked to note that our duncc which was advertised as being iheld on May 15th has now been indefinitely postponed, but a date will be announced through this column and we hope to continue your .support. 1 Special Announcement. Tuesday, May 22, will see the first of a series of club nights to be run through out the jwintcr months. Inndoor game?., i.e., table tennis, badminton, decktennis, a bit of an informal dance, and a general happy-go-lucky evening is what- it is (intended these club nights will prove to be. Points will be awarded for competitions, knockout tourneys etc., drawn up between members, and it lis proposed that trophies be awarded at the end of the season to winners of sections. For . these functions ladies are asked to supply the supper and igents tho sub, of Cd for incidental expenses and you couldn't have a better time for twice the price.
