CROQUET SECTION.

Your committee ,has much pleasure in presenting the Report and Balance Sheet for the season, 1932----1933. The season proved to be at* ideal one, many pleasant and keenly contested matches being played. The official opening was held on October Bth, the Club Captain (Mrs Bock) being in charge of the competitors. It was a beautiful afternoon and a large attendance of members rind friends * watched Mrs. Heudvy (president) play the ball through the first hoop. Tliis .season being the twenty-first year of the club's existence a special Sports Day was held on-October 25th to commemorate- the occasion. It was another beautiful day and during the afternoon a birthday cake presented by Mrs. Teagle (patroness), was cut. "(The cake was decorated to represent- a miniature ! croquet lawn complete with balls, hoops, mallets, etc., as well with 21 candles). The health of foundation and present members was duly honoured. Our lawn was used for some of_ the events of tbje Dominion Tournament, in which the following members of your club competed:—Mesdamcs Eock, Jenness and Parker. In the Champion of Champions contest Mrs Bock represented the A Grade and Mrs Wood the Intermediate Grade. The following were the trophy winner for the season:— Championship A Gade. —Mrs Bock; runner up, Mrs King. Intermediate Championship.-— Mrs Wood; runner-up, Mrs. Jenness. Handicap A. Grade.—Mrs Bock; runner-up, Mrs Passmore. Handicap Intermediate. —Mrs. Jenness; runner-up, Mrs Yates. These competitions proved to be very enjoyable and some very fine games were witnessed before the winners were decided on. Inter-club Games. A Grade scored 450 out of possible 572. . Intermediate Grade scored 605 out of a possible 780. During the season one resignation was received, the vacancy also being filled. In conclusion we wish to thank Mr. Bock (representative on Bowling Committee) for his work on our behalf; also all members for their hearty co-operation and loyal support throughout the past year.
